Demystifying Investing and Personal Finance

Visit Website
May 9, 2020 I was so optimistic

I spent a fair chunk on advertising, but I can't seem to generate any demand for the course. I definitely need some feedback & potentially need to pivot slightly. I still think it's an idea worth testing.

A couple ideas:

(1) Landing Page:
a) the landing page might not communicate what sits behind the paywall well enough - adapt style to communicate more clearly (bring out the benefits better, give people the opportunity to try, include an investment calculator to show people the potential)

b) get feedback on the website - friends and family are only so honest

c) write supporting articles that generate organic traffic

    Hi again!
I recently came back to the core idea of investments. I think I may be know what's the problem. People don't want to learn how to invest. They want to invest and get results.
I also thought if it's possible to create such service? Like people select some companies or shares based on the system's recommendation or whatever, watch at the result online and make decisions. And it could be applied not only to some big companies but for local businesses too. Is it doable? Do such services already exist?

Hi! I couldn't agree more. Consumers always prefer a frictionless solution & an educational course doesn't provide that. Nutmeg and Moneybox are great examples of frictionless solutions - they aren't fully aligned to what you're suggesting, but their strong growth demonstrates customers are willing to pay a high cost for easy investing (quite the paradox in the world of investing, if you ask me). I do think you're right that there is potentially an in-between solution for those not willing to dedicate time to learning, but understand that app based investment providers are expensive. I have previously thought this would look like a Typeform process that understands certain variables about the user & pops out a resulting fund/provider (e.g. LifeStrategy 60% Equity, Vanguard). In other words, digitalising financial advisers.

I think the above should be paired with SEO optimised articles about how expensive Moneybox & Nutmeg are, in an effort to educate the customer base.

Quite a long response, my apologies. I'm very interested in this area and think there is an opportunity, but the market is in very early stages of understanding. In the meantime, I'm focusing my efforts on learning to code, so hopefully I can build something in due course.

        Hey, thanks for your reply.
Actually, I'm looking for some neat idea to implement as a SaaS solution (if you look at my profile, you will see, I made a SaaS boilerplate). So, after creating several custom SaaS projects, I realized that the good, prospective, potentially good selling ideas are all behind my expertise (software development) haha.

So, yesterday when reading Rich dad, poor dad I thought "It would be great to provide a solution for noobs like me that could invest any amount of money with just a click but I don't know if it's even possible, I don't have expertise" I remembered about your project and thought maybe I could talk to you to figure out if it's even possible and if so, we could probably join our expertise to make something neat. Let me know if it sounds interesting :)

Your site looks pretty neat (btw update the link here on IH).
So, maybe something is wrong with your strategy or steps.
Maybe you need to give away some materials to make trust.
Maybe the audience you advertise is wrong.
Maybe the time (pandemic) is not very good...
    Good luck, anyway.

Thanks for checking the site out, I really appreciate that. I think you're definitely right with giving material away - I have integrated a Mailchimp sign up form that gives access to the content, but I think that adds too many steps to the journey.

Again, thanks for the feedback - massively appreciated.

        No problem, good luck!

November 9, 2019 MVP Live!

As someone who works in Strategy, I've never had to build a website. After 5 failed attempts, I finally have a functioning membership site, capable of hosting content, protecting pages and taking payments.

I am starting with the Passive Investor course, which I intend to be the bread & butter of the company. I have a lot of work to do - writing new courses, building finance toolkits, etc - but it will be great to see if this idea works.

June 15, 2019 Hear Me Out

I am lucky to have built a great network that has taught me the fundamentals of "bulletproofing your future" which means I will have a healthy nest egg for retirement.

However, there are swathes of people not fortunate enough to have a network of people with investing knowledge and rely on their company or the state to provide for them.

By taking a few simple steps and investing no more than a couple £100 a month, people can prepare themselves for the future - so why not share the knowledge?!

It would be great to share a few personal finance tips along the way.
