December 19, 2024 ManyStories.com Gets 4th Paying Customer

It's been just a day over a month since ManyStories reached three paying customers. Now, the content distribution platform has four writers paying for greater distribution of their stories.

Without any paid marketing, my users are observing the value of the Pro membership subscription and opting to give it a shot on their own. Each of my current customers, excluding the one who just subscribed today, have continued subscribing for $25/month beyond their first month. That tells me that they are getting value out of it.

That's fantastic progress! It's great to see organic growth and retention with no paid marketing. The fact that users are continuously subscribing shows the real value your platform is providing.

ManyStories Pro Pays Off

How to Reach More Readers — Top Writers of Week of November 10, 2024

After years of serving writers and their readers, a few months ago, we launched the first paid membership subscription of ManyStories.

The deal is simple:

Pay $25 per month for one of the limited spots atop the homepage of ManyStories.com every day.

As you can see below, those spots are called the Members’ Plot:

There are other features that we’re still building for the members, but the most important one is that your stories get amplified to our thousands of visitors each week.

ManyStories Pro Works for Writers

So how do we know it’s working? Well, first, we can see that stories in the ManyStories Members’ Plot are seen by significantly more visitors. That’s been true from the start.

Now, after some weeks, we can confidently say that writers whose stories are amplified in the ManyStories Members’ plot receive more engagement. Why is that true? Because those same writers are consistently landing atop ManyStories’ weekly Top Writers leaderboard.

ManyStories Members Receive More Reader Engagement

The Top Writers leaderboard, which is also presented to every visitor of ManyStories, uses an algorithm which takes into account the click-through rate of stories shared by writers on ManyStories.

So, in simplest terms, the top writers for the week are the ones who share stories that visitors actually engage with, actually click to read.

And there’s a positive loop here. Writers who are presented on the ManyStories weekly Top Writers list gain more followers, which means they have a higher chance of achieving more engagement for the following week, placing them back on the Top Writers list.

As you can see from this week’s leaderboard, the top 3 writers are the same ones whose stories are amplified in the ManyStories Members’ Plot.

They may alternate positions from week to week, but they remain atop the leaderboard.

Share Your Stories on ManyStories for Free

It’s not rocket science.

Your job as a writer is to write and publish stories worth reading, give them engaging covers, and get them in front as many writers as you can. You do the first two, and ManyStories helps with the final part: reader engagement.

Sharing your stories on ManyStories is always free and easy.

If you want even more help, consider becoming a member of ManyStories. We’ll open more spots in Members’ Plot as demand grows.

Regardless of where you publish your content, you can share it on ManyStories to reach more readers, drive more traffic to your stories, build your following, and engage with your readers.

For example, I publish on Medium, LinkedIn, and my own blog website. Then, I share all of my unique stories on ManyStories to promote to my existing audience and reach new potential readers. You can find all my stories on my ManyStories profile.

Support ManyStories & Reach More Readers

ManyStories has been around for five years. We’ll be around for another five and beyond to help writers achieve their goals. If you’d like to help us keep the lights on and reach even more readers, you should consider becoming a member.

We’re still working on delivering all of those features and more, so stay tuned. In the meantime, our Members’ Plot will continue to deliver for members of ManyStories.

Thanks to those writers who have taken a shot at this early program.

April 30, 2024 First Real Customer on ManyStories.com

Since 2019, I've been passively building ManyStories and watching it grow organically. Yesterday, my first customer decided to pay $25 a month for a more premium experience and treatment on our platform. Today, I actually built and delivered the first paid feature.

Backstory & Offerring

ManyStories is a platform that gives writers a place to share all of their stories, regardless of where they publish, and an opportunity to reach an existing pool of readers.

There are thousands of visitors to ManyStories.com each week. Now, 5 years after my beta soft launch, I've decided to add a paid option for writers who want more visibility on ManyStories to pay a premium fee for promotion on our most prominent surfaces.

For $25 a month, our paid members will mainly get daily promotion on our homepage, story page, and share-story page. They will also get more features; this is the current running list:

  • Daily Homepage Promotion of Your Stories
  • Premium Profile Page
  • No Ads
  • Your Own Dedicated Member Page
  • Entry on Members List
  • Suggest New Features

Pricing Model

I purposefully priced this relatively high because I want the few users who decide to pay to get the most value that I can deliver at this current stage of the platform. For comparisons, I charge 5 times more than Medium charges for their base subscription. The difference is Medium's target customer is the reader while mine is the writer.

I will add more features later and probably a cheaper subscription option.

September 20, 2019 MVP Built of ManyStories.com

There are millions of bloggers on the internet in the USA alone. There are also hundreds of various publishing platforms.

I wanted to build one place for writers to share their stories and engage with their readers regardless of where they publish.

ManyStories.com is now in beta with over 2k MAU, and I plan to launch it on Product Hunt next week.

Thanks for the question, Sebastian. We plan to build a high quality content marketplace in the next 1-2 years.
