Building MarginFlow to stop agencies from doing unpaid client work
Hi everyone,
I'm a 19 year old developer and over the last few months I've been building MarginFlow.
I noticed agencies often lose profit because clients ask for small revisions or extra features that slowly grow beyond the original agreement. Most teams don't realize it's happening until the project is finished.
MarginFlow connects to Gmail in read only mode, compares incoming client requests against the signed contract, and alerts the team when a request falls outside the agreed scope before anyone starts the work.
I recently launched and I'm looking for feedback from agencies, freelancers, and anyone who manages client projects. I'd love to hear what you think.

The “before anyone starts the work” part seems like the important distinction here.
From the agencies you've spoken with so far, is unpaid scope creep usually happening because the team genuinely doesn't recognize that a request is outside scope, or because they recognize it but still choose to do the work without turning it into a commercial conversation?
Great question. From the conversations I've had, it's usually a mix of both. Sometimes the team genuinely doesn't realize a request has crossed the agreed scope because it arrives as a normal email and sounds small. Other times they recognize it, but by then the work has already started, making it much harder to turn it into a commercial conversation. That's the gap I'm trying to solve. MarginFlow flags those requests early with evidence from the signed contract, so the team can have that conversation before committing to the work.
