MargPOS Desktop

Offline POS/ERP for Indian Retail Shops

August 30, 2026 Built a genuinely offline POS app for Indian retail shops — now selling the full source code

I built MargPOS Desktop — a fully offline Windows POS/ERP app for small Indian retail shops (Electron + React + SQLite, zero cloud dependency). It has GST billing (CGST/SGST/IGST + Composition Scheme mode), PIN-based Owner/Staff login, offline hardware-locked licensing with a key generator, barcode/QR scanning, customer khata, and an in-app auto-updater — all already built and working.

One shop is actively using it as a real test case. I no longer have the time to keep pushing this forward alongside other work, so I'm selling the full source code and ownership as a one-time deal — asking $2,500–$4,000.

Happy to answer questions about the tech stack, architecture, or licensing system in the comments.

The one active shop is probably the most valuable part of this asset. Curious whether buyers are valuing the source code itself, or the fact that the India-specific offline POS workflow is already tested in a real shop.

Both, honestly — but the real-shop testing is what seems to matter more to buyers. Anyone can write POS code, but proving it handles actual daily billing, GST edge cases, and offline reliability in a live retail shop is much harder to fake or fresh-build from scratch.

Happy to share more details or a demo if you're seriously exploring this. What's your use case?

That makes sense. The real-shop validation is probably the stronger asset because it reduces the buyer’s uncertainty about whether the system works beyond a demo. I’m mainly looking at the acquisition angle rather than deploying it myself.

Good point — the real-shop validation is exactly why I think this is a stronger buy than a from-scratch build. It's not a demo-only project, it's been running actual billing/GST/inventory workflows. If you're looking at it from an acquisition angle, happy to share more details — full source code, licensing system already built (trial + paid key generation), and a demo video. Drop your email here or let me know how best to reach you, and I'll send everything over.

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.

About

Wanted to build a genuinely offline POS/billing solution for small Indian retail shops that need GST-compliant billing without depending on internet or the cloud — most "offline" tools in the market still need a server.
