May 1, 2020 Updated the subscription plans

I adjusted the subscription plans to:

  • $0.50 / month
  • $5 / year

Users get 30 days of free trial before entering their credit card details.

I know the prices are ridiculously cheap, but I'm keen to experiment with them for the current Markers the extension supports.

My rational is that someone who's paying ~$15 for Netflix every month may not wanna spend a few more dollars just to add a "Mark As Watched" button to Netflix. $0.50 on the other hand is perhaps so small an amount that one may not bother to think about if she really wants that extra button.

Charging non-business users any amount for such a tiny function may not be viable anyways. Honestly I have no idea and can't help but to experiment.

April 5, 2020 Launched the first iteration of the site

I deployed the first MVP I was happy with and posted it up on Hacker News to get some feedback.

The post received 16 up-votes.
Brought in ~200 visitors.
5 logged in using their Google account.
0 continued to start a free trial.

I decided to change the flow of the free trials, so that users don't have to put in their credit card details up front before they can use the Chrome extension.

About

I used to write small scripts to add "mark as seen" buttons to TED and other sites I use frequently. I figured I should put it online so that others who need this may use it too.
