The data and research tool for Micro-SaaS
Based on feedback we realised we had to enrich the datasets we provide. Shopify has had the most traction so we started there.
Therefore we now provide:
- MRR estimates for all Shopify apps
- Install/download estimates for all Shopify apps
- Installs over time charting
- The rank of each app
- The change in rank
- Charting to show the change in rank over time
These are massive steps and excited to see what happens next.
We launched over 50K WordPress Plugins bringing our total dataset to 185k+ apps, extensions and plugins available on Marketplace Apps.

At the same time, we are continuing to work on enriching our data to drive more insights and more value to our users.
Based on customer feedback we added monthly billing plans for our datasets.
Customers can now access 138k Micro-SaaS apps and extensions for just $12.99 a month or $19.99 a month.
It was some really good feedback that we got from a few customers that prompted us to do it so looking forward to seeing the impact.
We just launched our full 128k dataset of Chrome extensions on marketplaceapps.co
Users can now either use our airtable database of 40k Chrome extensions or download a csv of the full 128k Chrome extensions
We're still looking for product market fit but getting lots of great feedback from users so far.
We added a free plan that includes samples of our datasets:
- around 100 most frequently rated Shopify apps (≥ 1,000 reviews)
- around 200 most frequently downloaded Chrome extensions (≥ 1,000,000 downloads)
You can check out the available fields and try out the features that enable you get insights from the data (filtering, sorting, grouping, summary metrics) before paying for the full access.
Today we launched the MVP of Marketplace Apps (www.marketplaceapps.co)
We provide access to real time datasets of all Shopify Apps and 40,000+ Chrome extensions (as Airtable doesn't provide enough rows for the full Chrome list!)
We've built the product using:
- Softr for the front-end and landing page
- Airtable for hosting the datasets
- Stripe for taking payments/subscriptions
- Substack for the newsletter we'll be launching.
It's early days but really looking forward to building this tool out.
After building scrapers to outbound source Micro-SaaS opportunities on app stores like Shopify and Chrome, I thought others may want this data too. And there must be an easier way.
I posted on a Indie Hackers community testing which datasets would be valuable to the community. @LukaszWiktor replied that he already had a similar dataset for Shopify.
We decided to team up and together we have created Marketplace Apps. The research and data company for Micro-SaaS.
We target three use cases:

Investors - Helping investors (like me) outbound source acquisition opportunities.

Developers - Help developers monitor the competition and their own performance.

Research - Enable users to conduct market research on app stores.
