Week 1: public beta, zero interest. I failed

A week ago, before MarqtAI went public beta I was sure it wouldn't scale. The amount of users would destroy the virtual machine, causing a fallout of disinterest in the product. So I wrote a queuing system to limit CPU and memory resources.

The big day came, the server was online and all test cases succeeded. It was time to market this baby.

The past week I did the following:

  • Posts on Hacker Network
  • Informed my network via LinkedIn
  • Product added to Indiehackers
  • Wrote an article on dev.to
  • Posted on a couple of subreddits (and got my account disabled lol)

Result: 0 new users
Feelings? Make a guess, lol

What am I doing this week?

  • More posts on Linkedin
  • More articles
  • Targeted email marketing: e-commerce sites
  • Adding the product to ProductHunt
  • Adding the product to Betabound and Uneed

From the list of the things you enumerated, only the "targeted email marketing: e-commerce sites" is worthy at this early stage. Everything else is just noise.

I would suggest you to find some potential clients and ask them for some real feedback. That's where the real fun begins as you can gain valuable insights about why somebody would want (or not) to use your product.

I agree. And yes, getting users for the public beta is exactly what I'm trying to do :)

Let me be Your first user then ;) The website needs a bit of "polishing" for sure. All of the contents are merged into my left screen border (1920x1080). This might help with the UX a ton.

      Thanks :D

I don't really know what you mean though. What browser are you using?
