MastermindJam®

This started as a simple list of conference names I needed for a set of new personalization and filtering features inside the app. People kept asking me for a copy of the list, but with more info. So I hired a VA to flesh the list out with helpful details. So here you go! Enjoy!

Since Q2 of 2019 I've experimented with doing closed enrollments periods (one per quarter) for MastermindJam. These were week-long launch workshops (based on Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula), followed by a cart open and close. The benefit of this is being able to focus on the new members one cohort at a time.

These "launches" have been converting around 10% each and every time. That's not bad, but I know it can be better.

This has come with pluses and minuses, of course. The workshop has been helpful to set expectations properly about what to expect inside our program. But, based on customer feedback, waiting as long as three months to get started is often much too long and people on the waitlist lose interest by the time the next enrollment begins.

After this enrollment closes next week, the price will increase to our new 2020 rates.

Starting next month, at the new rate, we'll experiment with doing enrollments using a new webinar-based onboarding rather than the once per quarter launch workshop. That way, folks can get started as soon as the same week, but they'll still need to watch a short video so they can learn about how it all works before they're allowed to register.

Responding to customer feedback that it was difficult to trust a free matching service where entrepreneurs weren't required to pay for the service, MastermindJam started requiring a one-time application fee.

Basically, a customer refused to sign up because it was free. So, I called his bluff and put up a payment link.

And he paid.
