July 14, 2021 Working on a big feature - content upload network!

We are working on a new feature that will help make data upload to the cloud easier, especially with #nocode and #lowcode toolchains as well as from mobile apps that our fellow Indie Hackers are making.
For now we are collecting interest on our new landing page: https://mediamachine.io/content_upload_network/

Take a look and let us know if you're interested and spread the work among your friends who might find this useful :)
We are currently collecting more usecases and requirements and planning to do a launch for this feature soon.

May 27, 2021 Deployed a browser based video transcoding tool

Hello from the MediaMachine team! We recently released a new page: https://mediamachine.io/convert to let people convert videos between different formats right in their browser without having to upload data anywhere.

We are hoping this:

  • Helps anyone looking for a quick video conversion for their projects/personal use etc free of cost
  • Grows out goodwill and maybe drive some more traffic

Right now we support converting between mp4 <-> webm, the two leading video formats and we will add more if there is demand.

We'd love to hear suggestions for growing an audience with free tools like this.

May 25, 2021 We published a new blog post

This time we talked about how we configured Tailscale on AWS using Terraform.

It might seems an easy task, but there is a lot of small details that take some time. So if you're on the same boat as us, read the blog post and save yourself (and your company) some trial & errors!

May 18, 2021 We launched on Product Hunt today!

We wanted to launch our intelligent video thumbnailing service first. It's our solution to a problem we were seeing all the time: for user-generated video, we needed the thumbnails to be great high-quality choices to increase clicks from other users. We used ML to find sharper, brighter, more interesting thumbnails for your videos and we made the magic available via an API.

Check out the launch here:

May 18, 2021 We published a new blog post!

This time we decided to talk about what makes a great thumbnail great, or, as we like to say: "The art and science of a great video thumbnail".

In this blog post you will learn why getting a great thumbnail is difficult and why using a service like MediaMachine will help you drive more traffic to your videos.

September 20, 2020 First Alpha Launch

After more than 6 month of hard work, we finally have an alpha version of our API that is able to get intelligent Thumbnails, Video Summaries and Encode cheaper than the competition.

The next step is going to be improve our pipeline to make it more effective.

We picked golang for most of the backend work, but we also decided to use node.js in some parts to allow us to move faster.

About

Because we found that most of the current video encoding service providers were too expensive or had really complicated APIs, and we were tired of getting blank thumbnails.
