I run a medical sales job/internship board. I have been reaching out to universities and faculty around the United States. Does anyone have experience with getting a University or Government backlink? I have SEO and AEO all set, but takes time with indexing. In the meantime, I was hoping to grab some high authority backlinks.

I’m 24, working in medical sales. Got laid off twice in six months. Both times I spent weeks doing the same thing. Checking company career pages one at a time, then paying for access to niche job boards where most of the postings turned out to be recruiter reposts I could have found for free.

Medical sales is a strange market. The roles are scattered across hundreds of individual employer career pages. The big boards return receptionist jobs and insurance sales when you search “medical sales.” And the industry-specific boards charge job seekers to look, which always felt backwards to me.

The second time around I stopped applying for a weekend and built a scraper instead. Just for me. It pulled openings from the companies I actually wanted to work for so I could stop opening forty tabs every morning.

It worked better than I expected. And once I had it running I realized every other person in my position was doing the same manual grind I’d just automated.

So I spent a few nights turning it into a real site. A lot of that was throwing prompts at it until the tagging got good. Teaching it to read where a role actually sells (operating room, cath lab, physician office), what product line it covers, and what experience the posting genuinely requires versus what it says in the title.

That last part matters more than it sounds. This industry almost never advertises “entry level.” It says associate sales rep, clinical support specialist, territory service specialist. People search the wrong words and conclude nothing is open.

I’ve got account signups, a few hundred LinkedIn followers, and Stripe just went live for an optional paid tier — resume tailoring and instant alerts. The listings themselves stay free permanently. That’s the whole point.
