February 2022 How I came up with an idea?

My wife and I have a tradition every night before bed, each of us have to share one favorite/ best moment that happened during the day. The moment doesn't have to be something spectacular or amazing. Even during, what felt like the worst day, can have a small moment. It's a great way to keep you focus on good things instead of bad ones.

However, the most challenging part of this "tradition" was to remember or determine what the best moment is, because sometimes it's really hard to tell what it is when every days feels like the same day.

That's why I wanted to start to journal, keeping track of what happened and my feelings at that moment. Of course, I started looking for an app. And there are a lot of them, and I tried a lot of them. However, there was always I thought in my head.

  • I will put all of my thoughts here and all this apps are using third party services, to track, analyze and store data. How really is my data secure? How private is my "private" journal.

That's why I decided, to create my own app, which leveraging the iCloud private database. The use of iCloud private database means only author can access your information (unless shared). No one else can. If access to iCloud account is lost the data cannot be recovered & me, as a developer, can only see my own records, that's it

I made a decision to avoid any third-party analytics or tracking tools. I don't know who uses my app, how often, or for what purposes. I don't collect any data that isn't necessary for the functionality of the app. And what is collected is securely stored in iCloud private database.

And that's how the idea of Memoiry - Diary, Mood tracker was born. Making privacy and security as a core pillar of the app without comprise of other features
