It's a soft launch for all the current users, I haven't got time to put out all these documentation on how to use it, although I think the feature is quite straight forward.
The next three things I going to focus on
- Landing page
- Help / FAQ
- Content marketing
I was wrong, what I expected to launch in three days delayed to two weeks later. It basically happens because while building the new feature, I explore some relevant features and in the end, this whole new thing is better then what I have. I spend two weeks to replace the whole backend.
I start to offer beta testing to my online friends and makerlog forum. The beta launching is received quite some good feedback and everyone giving positive suggestion on the overall process.
The only drawback is there are too little metrics to monitor.
I was trying to add Facebook-related metrics tracking for the beta testing, but it doesn't work after I live the Facebook app. It behaves differently when the app in demo compares to live. I spend something digging around and it seems like there is some new permission intro during that time.
I have 3 types of metrics ready for alpha testing but it took me awhile to tweak the server to delivery emails on the right time and there is some server bug that causing duplicate email sending as well. Lastly, I tweak some of the style sheet and wording for the email template.
The original idea of MetricsHQ is an API based product. I m thinking to build an engine that pulling metrics and only access through API. While brainstorming different endpoint to access the API, suddenly an idea strike me, why not sending the metrics through email weekly? Which is why I pivot it from API based first to email-based first.
I come out with 3 product ideas to build in May.
MetricsHQ is one of the first that I kickstarted. While building other side projects, I always want to have a way to monitor all my relevant metrics. I was thinking to build an API based Metrics product and maybe I can use a few #nocode tools to build an interface to access this Metrics API.
