Mi Corte
Cash reconciliation app for gas station attendants
I work rotating 8-hour shifts at a gas station in Uruapan, Mexico.
At the end of every shift we do the "corte": counting cash, card receipts, vouchers, and pump readings by hand. It takes about 30 minutes. If the numbers don't match, the shortfall is deducted from our pay.
So I learned to code and built Mi Corte. You log payments as they happen during the shift, it reads the pumps, and at the end it tells you exactly how much to hand over and whether you're short. Takes a few minutes instead of thirty.
It's a PWA on Supabase and Netlify, distributed as an APK over WhatsApp. Attendants here don't trust in-app payments, so I charge $99 MXN (~$5 USD) a month, collected in cash or bank transfer.
I sell to the attendants, not the station owners. Owners don't feel the shortfall. We do.
Three coworkers use it. I just turned on the license blocking, so this week I find out if they'll actually pay.
Two things I'd love input on:
Attendant turnover is high. Does a monthly subscription even make sense here, or should I charge weekly?
Should I stay focused on individual attendants, or go after multi-station owners once I have proof?
