A user was referred to Mindstamp after another existing service was shut down. After a few days of emails discovering their use case and needs, they decided to become a customer!
Note: they will use Mindstamp for group training exercises involving video. These exercises happen ~4 times a year, so they won't need a continuous subscription, only a month or two at a time starting in October.
First paying customer 🎉
An early user's trial ran out and I asked them if they might be willing to pay. Turns out they already entered their payment info and considered themselves a customer 😎
First Alpha pushed to production
Most of the code / structure was reused from Aech. Combined with Rails' awesome gems like Devise, I was able to get a basic alpha up pretty quickly.
Mindstamp is born
After launching Aech, a social video annotation app, in August of 2017, I learned two things:
Social is hard. A social web app in 2017 is even harder.
The most interested parties saw the potential of video annotation for business rather than pleasure.
In January of 2018 I started doing user research to find out what a professional-focused video product would be comprised of and Mindstamp was born.
Mindstamp helps you engage and qualify your audience by enriching your videos with interactive notes, questions, and personalization in seconds.
