MintCheck

8-check Solana token scanner with $100 paper trades

May 1, 2026 I lost money on Solana memecoins. So I built the tool I wish I'd had.

I'm a programmer from Hyderabad who got into Solana memecoins about a year ago.

Like everyone else, I lost money. Not life-changing money, but enough that it stung. The worst part was looking at the on-chain data afterwards and realizing every single rug I bought had obvious red flags I just didn't know to check.

Mint authority still active — meaning the dev could print unlimited supply whenever they wanted. I bought anyway. It dumped. Freeze authority still on — meaning my wallet could be frozen so I couldn't sell. I bought anyway. It happened. Top 10 wallets holding 78% of the supply. I didn't even look. They dumped, I didn't get out in time.

The information was always there. Free. On-chain. I just didn't know what to look at, and even when I learned, I didn't have 60 seconds to manually check 8 things on every token before deciding whether to buy.

So a few months ago I started building MintCheck during nights and weekends after my day job. The idea was simple: take the 8 things I should have been checking every time, automate them, and run them against every new Solana token within 30 seconds of launch.

The 8 checks:

- Mint authority disabled

- Freeze authority disabled

- Buy tax under 5%

- Sell tax under 5%

- Top-10 holders under 50%

- Creator has no rug history (via RugCheck)

- No wash trading detected

- 5-min momentum in a healthy band

If any one fails, the token is rejected. No exceptions, no "but maybe this one is different." That discipline is the whole point. The tokens that pass all 8 get a hypothetical $100 paper trade attached, with milestone tracking at 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x. No real money is ever placed. The whole point is to study what good token profiles look like without risking rupees.

I made it explicitly an education tool, not a trading platform. Partly because I'm not a financial advisor and don't want to be. Mostly because I genuinely think the value is in pattern recognition, not signals. If you watch enough passing tokens for enough weeks, you start seeing what "good" actually looks like — and that's worth more than any alert.

Tech stack for the curious: Flask + vanilla JS frontend, Helius RPC for on-chain data, RugCheck API for creator/wash-trade checks, DexScreener for token discovery. Single Hetzner box. Cloudflare in front. Where I'm at: ~1.3k unique visitors in the first month, almost all word of mouth from Telegram groups. Free 7-day trial, paid Monthly and Annual plans, no auto-renewal. Solo, side project, working on it whenever my day job lets me.

I'm posting here because I'm trying to figure out the next 90 days. The product works, the tech is solid, but I'm new to actually getting in front of people. Any advice — especially from anyone who's grown a niche tool from word-of-mouth to organic — would mean a lot.

About

Solana memecoins move too fast for beginners to spot red flags. I built MintCheck to scan every new token in 30 seconds with 8 mandatory safety checks, then paper-trade the safe ones. Education without losing real money.
