MinuteTaker

After switching to subscriptions a year ago I'm quite happy how it turns out till now. It grows to around $750 MRR.

Other than expected, I had only little time to develop and marketing MinuteTaker in 2021.

But I have big plans for 2022. So let it grow!

Version 3 marks a big milestone for MinuteTaker. I switched from a pay-up-front to a subscription based business model.

I hope it will enable me to do iOS development full-time and ship a lot of amazing new features in the future to take creating and sharing meeting minutes to the next level.

In 2010 I had already shipped my first iOS App "WorkTimes" successfully in the App Store. At that time I was employed and worked as a Database Manager for a global enterprise. That job required to plan and attend to a lot of (project-)meetings.

It always bugged me that every colleague created their own version of meeting minutes (incl. their own template and style). There was no continuity and consistence in those important documents. Especially in follow-up meetings there was usually no plan about what was discussed in the last meeting and what was the actual state of required todos.

I always liked and preferred the structure of action item based minutes. So I created a Word-based template for me that I’ve also shared with my colleagues.

With the release of the iPad in 2010 it was immediately clear to me, that this was the tool I was looking for. So I’ve started developing MinuteTaker right away and was able to finally ship it in 2012.
