Mockoon
The easiest and quickest way to run mock APIs locally.
After months of work, Mockoon CLI is available in beta. Our users can now deploy their mock APIs in any environments: servers, CI environment, GitHub Actions, Windows Subsystem Linux, etc. It's the perfect complement to the main application and one of the oldest and most requested feature!
The CLI was our small 2020 challenge. The biggest difficulty was to achieve this while having a full-time job and an infinite list of things to do this project: adding more features, writing content, answering support requests, etc. But we like challenges 😅.

Since the beginning of November, Mockoon has a new team member. It's a big step for me and the project. It will help accelerate Mockoon's growth by offering more features faster. I will also be able to discuss everything with a teammate and challenge myself, which is so important!
We are already seeing benefits from this as we have a working POC for the CLI after only a couple of weeks!

I was checking this month's downloads stats and, I just realized that Mockoon passed 100k downloads some days ago! This achievement reminds me of how working on this open-source application has been a fantastic adventure, with lots of great folks met and people helped. I can't wait for the next 900k downloads!

Two years after starting working on Mockoon, it finally reached 2000 stars on GitHub. It's a great achievement for the project (and also for me :)). Surely it's only a vanity metric, but it's one that contributes to keeping me motivated :) And it's corroborated by the growing user base and sponsors.
Version 1.9.0 is coming soon, and a lot of features are on the roadmap.
Mockoon's future looks bright!

After months of hard work, version 1.8.0 is finally here. It brings one long-awaited feature: the possibility to import and export in the popular OpenAPI format. It has been a long road, not the most enjoyable work on my side, but I am glad to bring this to Mockoon's community which keeps growing release after release!

After a very good month in February, March saw similar growth with 25% more active users. Mockoon reached an all-time high of 5000 monthly active users. Also, version 1.8.0 is due to be released soon and should boost the growth too by bringing long-awaited features like OpenAPI compatibility.

After two depressingly "bad" months in December and January obviously due to holiday season, growth is back and seems more robust than ever. Downloads are increasing, more users are returning to the application, and SEO contributes to onboard more and more users every day.

During this iteration, I corrected lots of annoying bugs and revamped the import/export system. Also, data exports are now independent of Mockoon's version, and migrations are played after an import on each environment independently. This will make data exports easier to share between developers and maximize team sharing.

Thanks to increasing contributions from the community, version 1.6.0 has been released. Moreover, this release is the first one produced mainly by the community. It's a great feeling to see so many people involved in the development of Mockoon and sharing the same goal.
This update also brings the application to the Arch Linux repository and adds more automation for the release to decrease the repetitive work.

This update has been the most difficult to get out, due to a lot of changes in my personal life. But finally, it's here!
It brings some long-awaited features like the possibility to add multiple responses for each route. But it's also making a big step forward on Linux by adding along with the AppImage format, both deb and rpm packages, and Snap version available on Snapcraft and compatible with many Linux distributions.
I hope this will boost the Linux users growth :)

API mocking solutions were too complex and I needed a simple tool to quickly mock a REST API. Mockoon was born. In one click you can have a mock server up and running. It's also a desktop app, no account required.
