Real Estate Analytical Software For Investment Professionals
Given my user feedback, limitless conversations and surveys...I feel like MW has reached an inflection point for validation (fingers crossed). As such, I really have driving towards to larger visions for the platform. I feel there are two ways to for that to occur, additional investments and/or additional early subs. I continue to iterate and improve to find that secret sauce.
It is in that context that I recieved a cold reach out by an established VC co. I am a bit early in my journey for them...but it certainly was a cool day.
So, as the progression of this project unfolds...I see myself going down a path that a lot of others have taken. I am starting to prepare my project (and myself) for soliciting funds. I started w/ signing up on Signal NFX and warming up w/ cold outreach.
I hope to write more about this later but I am quite impressed w/ Money Weighted and what it has become. I am more encouraged that w/ a capital injection, it might fuel some quick growth.
In the spirit of networking, community, and putting myself out there... I signed up the CRE Tech's Matchmaking event.
I'm new to the startup world (like a lot of us)...and decided to expand my network and meet others in my space - proptech. So, the week before last I attended CRE Tech's Networking Event. It was virtual, which actually made it easier. The event took place over 3 days and was bascially a series of 15 min zoom calls w/ individuals that mutually wanted to meet. I "Matched" w/ some really interesting people - investors, other startups, techie/builders and some representatives from big corporate users. Overall, it was a great experience and improved my outlook on similar events.
If anyone is considering (especially CRE Tech's thing), I would recommend it.
So, I bit the bullet and decided to explore the conference/startup circuit. I was too late for the "MicroConference" (I believe that name is correct), which is more in my lane, but it was fun to listen, network and collaborate.
The event was obviously virtual, which actually makes it easier. In the end, I got to talk about what I am building, network and listen to some interesting people. I must admit that my experience w/ the Start Up world is colored through "Silicone Valley". As I saw that series prior to my own startup journey. It is amazing how much they got right.
One item in the long list of additional features and "todos" was to upgrade the initial site. It was still in pretty raw form and just got the user to the app. Today we finalized the upgraded site and I am quite happy. I am also explore some additional chat/customer service functionality.

The paid application is now up and running. I am very excited to continue developing this product and bring additional features (waterfall structures, construction modules, improved input functionality), but first I will likely take a few days off to celebrate.
Of course, the next challenge is growth. Challenge accepted!
Ok...admittingly, I signed up for this concurrently with BetaList. As such, I can compare the two fairly. Pros for Killer Startup is the article they write on your behalf. Pretty cool and hey...free content. Con for Killer Startup is there graphics/presentation of my site was not as appealing as BetaList. There is text on text in their post and just looks a bit sloppy. BetaList gets the win for aesthetics.

After perusing the forums I decided to post my site on BetaList. I don't hope for a huge impact but merely searching for some early users/testers while the app is still free.
More than anything, I think there will be some "synergies" as I have new shiny thing to promote. So, I will be posting/sharing the BetaList link around my networks, newsletter, socials, etc.
So, 90% of the functional development is done and we are running fast. It is very rewarding to see everything come together and I look forward to all the positive feedback, rave reviews, fame and fortune (I assume that is how this works). I have sent this Beta version out into the world.
I hope to clean up and finalize the build and biz-ness side of things in the coming weeks so that I can monetize.
After some targeted industry research, conversations and proof of concepts in xls...I sourced a competent tech/developer to on board and got to work. He made short work of my idea and we had a working web-based model. Once the champagne was drunk...I started further market research and tested the validity of the model.
