I have been in the financial space for more than 12 years now.
I worked in the banking sector, consulting companies and created several finance apps.
One of the financial apps I developed became pretty successful.
The app is called MoneyCoach. If you love budgeting and personal finances, chances are you might have seen it featured worldwide on the App Store.
During the years we worked on MoneyCoach, thousands of people expressed the need to share their finances with their partners, spouses or family.
That is why I decided to create a different product catered to this audience.
Enter MoneySpaces, shared financial spaces for you and the people you care about.
I can go on for hours writing and explaining they Whys and the Why Not's.
Instead, here is a simple actionable list of what I did before deciding to go for and develop MoneySpaces.

Know your market.

Talk to your audience, or in YC terms, "Talk to users".

Develop an MVP with only 1-3 essential features.

Choose a tech stack you know.

Use a simple and native design.

Give the product a little bit of personality.
Don't overdo it at this stage. You don't know if there is a market for your product yet.
In typical MVP fashion, I will expand on the bullet points, if fellow indies want to know the nitty-gritty.
So far the app has been going nowhere.
It is depressing, but is the hard truth.
I thought I will start writing and build it in public.
I will share my journey and apply to MoneySpaces what I learned building world-class apps with millions of downloads such as MoneyCoach and other apps.
