Morsel
Learn new code more quickly through bite-sized guides.
Over the past two weeks, my new cofounder Thomas and I went heads down to hack on this project after work. In just under two weeks, we've managed to entirely redesign and build the new Morsel: https://www.morsel.dev
I'm really delighted with how Morsel has come out, and we're excited to launch this soon on Product Hunt :)
Our issue is that the content on Morsel is sparse at the moment. Every community resource has to start somewhere. Feel free to check it out, and if you want a huge digital hug from myself, contribute your two cents to the developer community by writing a mini guide :)
Morsel was a little experiment I built last year that showed enough potential, I'd always wanted to come back round to it. But other life stuff happened and I didn't get to rebuilding my MVP for almost 12 months.
Over the Easter weekend, however, I was able to join forces with a great UI designer called Thomas to start on the rebuild of Morsel and things are coming along extremely nicely. I've taken a lot of the lessons from my previous build of Morsel into the new.
We're hoping to launch Morsel again in the coming week!

Just had the ecommerce division of a massive retailer in Australia sign up to create private mini-docs for their online web stores on Morsel. Seems they're using it to train up new hires on how to edit code on their stores and work within their own CSS framework.
Meanwhile, a coding bootcamp in the US appears to be using it to create best practice cheatsheets for their classes.
These more private use-cases are not particularly what I had expected when building Morsel - so pretty fun to see. Goes to show that there's no teacher more instructive than shipping product.

Just over a month ago I started my first full-time gig for a non-startup, and knew I needed a project to work on in my spare time to keep me sane.
Over the last two years, I taught myself to code and shipped multiple software products (Tribefire XP, Kick). Along the way, cheatsheet PDFs (collected in bookmark folders) were my most valuable asset. I would constantly refer back to them for best practices and little pointers, rather than having to regularly sift through large docs.
Morsel is my attempt to provide a single community for creating and sharing bite-sized docs, or cheatsheets. I want to provide awesome resources for people looking to pick up new languages, frameworks and libraries. Morsels should be concise, focused on core features and written to be friendly and accessible to newbies.
After a month or so of working hard through the night, I have the MVP platform ready! You add cheatsheets through markdown, that is formatted nicely on the frontend. This process needs a lot of refinement, so I'd love for any devs who want to help build this community to get onboard and create some morsels; providing feedback along the way :)
