Motion Storyline launched on Product Hunt! Lesson learned: there is such a thing as not ready...
Although I was very excited in my Startup School winter 2020 class to get an MVP off the ground and running, I took the idea too far and published to Product Hunt too early to properly use the platform. Unfortunately I just didn't have enough basic cohesive features for the product to really make sense. I tried to demonstrate what it had the potential to do before actually using the product to generate a well planned and thought out version of it's own capability. Although I did get the MVP and launch all put together relatively quickly (the class was 8 weeks), it would have been much more effective to first gain some users and collect email addresses, and use Product Hunt as a way to both use and gain momentum in a feedback loop. Since I had none when the launch began, I was not using the full potential of Product Hunt.
I now plan to re-launch with a more definitive version that makes sense and has a polished, but minimal set of features.
Came up with my idea and threw up a demo so people can at least see what it is. After login, users can fill out a content post in a structured format to walk through or document a topic. Then they may export a landing page, PDF, or animation. Feedback is much appreciated!
I currently built out the demo in the fastest way possible that I know of. A developer reading my code would probably laugh at it. The tech stack is basically HTML with some <script> tags of Javascript running Firebase. Since Firebase writes to DB from the frontend I don't really even have an API for CRUD. Laugh it up, but it works! And hopefully I can get feedback without going too far down any wrong directions. I plan to progressively integrate modular JS - I have the dev environment setup with a React src folder and a Svelte (actually Sapper) and soon a Vue. All snapshot down to HTML/CSS/JS, which works as a sort of common denominator for my easel/melting pot/disorganization of frontend frameworks. I plan to hopefully adopt one that works best for my requirements and standardize my development, however right now I don't even know my requirements! Still in discovery...

I see an opportunity forming in an area of intersection between marketing, documentation, and infotainment. I think there will be a shift toward quality public facing product documentation, even for smaller businesses.
