What I learned about working on MTRIG.com is that it was great to continue to build my software development skill set. It never took off and built the fortune I expected (my best year was $20,000). But overall the site has funded vacations, car payments and money to play with.

Using historical data I built a prediction model of when to trade long or short stocks. The model would give a range such as 80-90% accurate over x number of years. Overall this was a good model to get some trading pics. What I found is that the core members of the site were focused more on options and I have not seen traction with this feature.

I launched the site as a paid service and integrated with PayPal IPN process. Using PayPal IPN to post payments back to my service and using the PayPal sandbox was a bit challenging at times. This year the site hit about 10k in revenue and I continue to add new features.

I launched as a free service for option traders and this ramped up membership quickly. This allowed for Google Ad Revenue stream that was around $300 a month. It gave me time for feedback to improve the service from the free member base that was using the site.
