MuscleMind
We pay you to work out
Hey IH — first post here, been building in public mostly on TikTok and Reddit but wanted to start sharing here too.
The backstory
I’m Jelle, based in the Netherlands. I wanted proper structured training, progressive overload, exercise selection based on my history, someone explaining the why behind each change. Personal trainers here run €60–100/session, which wasn’t happening.
When ChatGPT launched I had one of those “wait, this changes things” moments. Six months later I had a working app. A year or so after that I’m still iterating on it.
What MuscleMind does
Generates a personalized weekly workout plan, adjusts it week over week based on what you actually logged, and explains every change it made.
There’s also a token reward system: complete a workout, earn $MUSCLE, redeem for fitness gear discounts. I built it because streaks alone don’t cut it for long-term retention and I wanted something that felt tangible.
Built in Flutter, so iOS and Android from one codebase.
Where I’m at:
~130 users
Most are on free lifetime codes I gave out for early feedback
Revenue: zero so far
Main channel: organic TikTok, some Reddit traction recently
The hard shift I’m making now is moving from “get users” to “get paying users.” I have no meaningful conversion or retention data yet because almost nobody has paid. That’s the problem I’m focused on solving next.
What I want to figure out
What actually converts free users to paid in a fitness app
Whether influencer partnerships make sense at this stage (my instinct: not yet)
How to make onboarding tight enough that users reach their first “this is working” moment before churning
Happy to answer anything and if anyone’s been through the free-to-paid transition in a consumer app I’d genuinely love to hear how you approached it.
About
I've been going to the gym on and off since I was 16. And that's exactly the problem — on and off. Some months I'd train consistently and feel great. Other months I'd lose motivation, skip sessions, and lose the progress
