MusicTent
Live music chat rooms for sharing and discovering songs
Been building a real-time music community app called MusicTent for the past few months.
Live music rooms, DMs, song battles, mobile-first UI — finally feels stable enough to show people 😄
Would genuinely love honest feedback from other builders:
does this feel like something music fans would actually use?

I’ve been building a real-time music community app called MusicTent for the past few months and I’d genuinely love some technical feedback from other web developers.
I’m self-taught and not a professional developer, so a lot of this was learned while building.
The app has:
real-time music chat rooms
private DMs
song battles
mobile-first responsive UI
virtualization for large chat histories
PWA support
Internet Identity auth
backend running on Internet Computer canisters
A huge amount of work went into fixing mobile chat behavior, scroll restoration, realtime updates, layout edge cases, etc.
At this point it finally feels stable and production-ready, but I honestly don’t know if the architecture/frontend quality is actually decent from a more experienced developer perspective.
I’m also curious about the product idea itself:
do you think people would genuinely use a live music discussion platform like this today, or are communities like Discord/Reddit/Spotify already “good enough” for most people?
Would genuinely appreciate honest feedback on:
UX
frontend quality
performance
architecture decisions
whether the core idea itself feels interesting or unnecessary

Hey everyone 👋
After months of building, debugging and polishing mobile UX, I finally decided to put MusicTent out into the world.
MusicTent is a real-time music community where people can:
join live music chat rooms
share songs
talk about albums/artists
battle tracks
hang out around music taste
I built it as a solo project because I always felt like most music discussion online is fragmented across feeds, comments and Discord servers.
The app is still early, but it's already live and people are starting to use it organically.
Would genuinely love feedback from music lovers, builders and anyone interested in online communities.

Really cool concept, real-time music rooms and song battles is a fun niche to build in.
Two things worth flagging:
1. Your login page is redirecting to what looks like a phishing/VPN download page. Might want to check that asap, anyone trying to sign up is hitting that before they even get in.
2. The current logo feels a bit clip-art heavy for the product. A social music platform has a lot of personality to play with and a cleaner mark would help it land better on first impressions.
I do brand identity and logo work for indie products. Happy to put together a few concepts if you want to see what it could look like. Just connect and we can chat.

Really appreciate the feedback 🙌
About the login flow — MusicTent is built on the Internet Computer ecosystem, so authentication goes through Internet Identity which can look unusual if you haven’t seen it before. I’ll definitely keep an eye on that though, because first impressions matter a lot.
And yeah, fair point about the logo too. Branding is something I want to improve over time, but right now I’m mainly focused on validating whether people actually enjoy the core experience and community side of the app first.
Thanks again for taking the time to check it out.

I’ve always loved talking about music in real time with other people, but most social platforms aren’t really built for that experience. MusicTent started as an experiment to create live music chat rooms where people ca
