My Next Hire

It all started when I watched a founder’s talk about React at Next.js Conf 2021 that blew my mind (link below). I was really excited by the technologies being used in the talk and wanted to connect with other people who had watched it and were working on similar things.

The speaker had a link to their GitHub page, so I went there and started looking through their followers.

It was a nightmare.

Github is great, but it’s still not really designed for searching users . I gave up after looking for people who followed the same person as me and had contributed to React projects in the past; they don’t let you search by the skills people specify in their bio, or by the languages they most use. Even the photos are tiny!

I wasn't satisfied and wanted something better, so deep-dived into the Github API and came out the other end with a search engine that allowed for all the filters I like. It’s funny that getting exited by mobile & web technologies led me to start a web-only project again, after Bedia and Songkey!
