My Nine Lives

Today, nearly 3 weeks after My Nine Lives has been released on www.myninelivesgame.com, I hit 50 donations.

39 of them via Stripe, 10 from PayPal, and 1 with a direct bank transfer.

The total amount of money collected to help stray cats is $469 so far.

I've propagated the game on various places and the most traffic to the landing page came from Reddit and in those few days after the release, a few payments have been already made.

Most people used the Stripe payment gate, but there were also a few PayPal transactions. So far the most popular tier is $5 and the second most popular is $15.

I'm wondering what the revenue will be after the first month and looking forward to donating it to a cat charity, which is one of the main purposes of the project.

Soe My Nine Lives was released and it's been exactly after one year since I got the idea to make a game to help stray cats.

At https://www.myninelivesgame.com I swapped the e-mail sign-up form with $1, $5, $15, and $25 tier buttons that lead to payment gate powered by Stripe, PayPal.me link and link for downloading the game straight away.

When I registered on Stripe a couple of months ago, I found out that unfortunately, it's not available yet in my country, but on May 29 I've got an e-mail with the following subject: Stripe is now available in Czech Republic!

Two days before release! Good timing :-)

I also sent notification to people who gave me their e-mail and then deleted the list as promised when they signed up. For that, I've used good old Mailchimp.

It was the first time I've been talking in a podcast, so I was a bit nervous, but it went well after all, and I really enjoyed it.

I've bought this domain https://www.myninelivesgame.com and in several hours designed a posted my landing page.

On the page, people can get basic information about the project, see the trailer of the game and give me an e-mail to which I'll send a notification once the game will be released.

I've got an idea to build a cat theme game and then use the revenue to help stray cats.

The game should be fun and accessible to all ages and besides raising money also raise awareness about the issue of stray cats and important work of cat charities.
