See Who's Trending in Pop Culture
This might sound like a clickbait-y , too-good-to-be-true headline, but its not. Like it says above, we found a way to get marketed by accounts on Instagram for FREE.
Heres how we did it:
For us, we are a celebrity trending database. So, we figured that the best way to get exposure from the audience we want would be to utilize fan accounts on Instagram, who have dedicated followings in the hundreds of thousands (almost as much as the influencer/celeb themselves!)
Our initial play was to pay these fan accounts to post about MyFeed. The game-changer, though, was when I decided to make the 'ads' ALL about the subject of the fan account.
With this approach, many of the fan accounts we contacted even turned down monetary payment , because they were happy with the content that we were creating for them to post to their followers!
Moral of the story: find a market that really resonates with your product/service. Look for an angle that isn't so obvious. The less obvious, the cheaper. Then, reach out to anyone and everyone in that market who you might be able to provide any value, and just try to help them!
After many painful months of keeping MyFeed sheltered to the world, it finally launched for use on all web browsers on April 8, 2020.
With this new experience, anyone who wants to find news or social media posts about any particular person that is trending today doesn't have to use an app.
More importantly, the web platform encourages a much more seamless sharing and user acquisition experience, allowing users to view news articles and even share news headlines with friends, without ever having to download any apps.
Users who want a more personalized experience can download the MyFeed app, and already in the first few days numbers have shown that almost 25% of visitors who landed on our website pressed on the 'download app' button!

After finally getting our integration with ticketmaster approved, we tested out our ability to sell tickets with an early group of users during the concert season of October of 2019.
A few people bought tickets to a Deadmau5 concert, and we made almost $20 commission!
It's not much , but it's definitely a start -- and it proves that people can and will buy tickets using MyFeed!

It took about 12 months, but in October we were finally able to launch the first, pretty shitty MVP version of MyFeed.
It wasn't great, but it was usable for a purpose. After 8 weeks and 500 early users, it was clear that the layout and user funnel was not optimized for retention and growth, so we put the app on hold for a much more important component.. the MyFeed WEB experience.
