Found an opportunity to pitch the idea to CivVic Labs pre-acclerator program, a Govtech program that partners startups with the government on solving challenges. I got the opportunity to present the idea to Work Safe Victoria for the challenge 'How to improve the safety of gig workers"
After rounds of interview and pitch, we won the opportunity to participate in the pre-acclerator program and received $5000 funding.

To test my assumption and kick-start the customer discovery process. I participated in a hackathon organised by HackerExchange and the State Library of Victoria. I teamed up with 5 other participants and worked on making the gig worker smarter and safer.
At the end of the hackathon, we pitched our solution, AussieGigsters, a mobile application that will support gig workers.
And won the 2nd prize among 64 teams.

I have been researching and reading about the ongoing opportunities and challenges in the gig economy in Australia.
I used to work as a gig worker on four different gig platform as delivery drivers, handyman and more. I have personally faced numerous challenges with regards to access to information, community and general workplace safety.
