March 29, 2026 MyHass.io is Live (Free Beta)

A few weeks ago I shared my idea for a simple, secure way to access Home Assistant remotely. Today, the beta is officially live (https://myhass.io)

You can now get started immediately. No waitlist, no approval.

The beta is completely free, and I’d love to get as many people testing it as possible.

What is MyHass.io?

A remote access service for Home Assistant focused on one thing only:
secure, hassle-free access from anywhere.

  • No port forwarding.

  • No complex network setup.

  • No unnecessary features.

What makes it different?

MyHass.io is intentionally simpler:

  • Choose your subdomain and get your credentials.

  • Install the add-on

  • Connect your Home Assistant

  • Done

Why I built it

I just wanted a clean, secure tunnel for my own setup.
Then friends asked for it… and it kept growing.

So I decided to turn it into a small, focused service for people who want:
👉 simplicity
👉 security
👉 control

What I need from you

If you try it, I’d really value your feedback:

  • Is setup truly effortless?

  • Does it feel fast and reliable?

  • Anything confusing or missing?

This stage is all about learning and improving.

If you’re into Home Assistant and want a remote access solution, give it a try:

February 21, 2026 Intro

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share something I’ve been working on and get some honest feedback.

I’m building a remote access service for Home Assistant that focuses on just one thing: secure, hassle-free access to your instance from anywhere, without complex setup.

This is not meant to compete with Nabu Casa. They offer a lot of great features and do an amazing job supporting the ecosystem.

My goal is different and much simpler:

  • Easy to set up (install add-on, done)

  • Strong focus on security

  • No extra features you don’t need

  • Fair price, just to support the service (not built for profit)

The idea came from my own setup. I needed a clean and secure way to access my Home Assistant remotely, then some friends asked for the same thing… and it grew from there. I figured there are probably others who just want a reliable, secure tunnel, nothing more.

Right now, the beta version is almost ready, and I’ve opened a waitlist. Beta will be free, and the main thing I’m looking for is real user feedback:

  • Is the setup truly simple?

  • Does it feel fast and reliable?

  • Is anything confusing or missing?

If you’re interested in trying it out and helping shape it, you can sign up here: https://myhass.io

Happy to answer questions, and I’m very open to feedback (good or bad).
Thanks for reading!

Nice positioning. Keeping it simple and security-first for Home Assistant remote access makes sense, especially for users who just want a clean tunnel.

From a security perspective, a few important questions:

    • What protocol are you using for the tunnel, and is it end-to-end encrypted with keys generated per instance?
    • Are you terminating traffic on your own servers, or is it a true peer-to-peer tunnel?
    • How are you authenticating the add-on to your service to prevent unauthorized instance registration?

Since this sits between someone’s home automation system and the public internet, trust is everything. Clear documentation about encryption model, key management, and data retention would be a strong differentiator.

Concept is solid. The security model will define whether people feel comfortable routing their home infrastructure through it.
