After some more fine-tuning last week, I decided to post on showHN, and this is generating quite a bit of traffic and Github stars. Plus some valuable feedback.

The post is #8 at the show section, let's see if it manages to climb up a bit more ...

May 25, 2020 MyPaaS is ready for others to try!

After working on this on and off for the past few months, I now think it has reached a state where it's ready-ish. I've moved all my own apps to a single MyPaas server, which well help safe costs quite a bit.

It's now also available as a Python package, so others can install this on a VM and have their own PaaS running in a few minutes!

November 18, 2019 Started working on the idea

I had my timetracker was running on a VM, using the Traefik router and some processes to automate most things. I figured that it would be nice for myself (and others) if I could consolidate this automation in a self-contained packages that is easy to setup. Thus, MyPaas was born.

It makes use of the awesome Traefik router/reverse-proxy, and uses Docker containers to deploy services/apps. The use of Traefik deals with most of the configuration; MyPaas basically automates it further, provides a means to push deploys (in a very safe way), and ads analytics to monitor the server and its services.

I had a pretty nice server setup for my timetracking service, and decided to clean it up and wrap it up in a way that makes it usable for others :)
