Alexa Skill certified!!!

This has been quite a while in the making but my first Alexa skill is being published for Nap O’Clock!

This extends the current functionality of Nap O’Clock to iOS, Android, Apple Watch and now Alexa!! Google Home is next but shouldn’t think that will be too difficult!

Congrats! Do you have a plan to monetize? I'm working on something similar (ambient sounds) but for a different target audience.

The iOS and Android apps have ad revenue, however, I don’t make a lot of money from it. The only way to monetise this is to have a subscription model / buy more sounds etc., however, I don’t want it to be too complicated as it would involve signing in potentially and that’s a little frustrating for people I find, especially in Alexa... it’s not really about money for me anyway, more like a way to showcase my skill sets across multiple platforms and environments

Ya makes sense to me! I have agree it's fun just to build it on various platforms, and a great learning experience. Signing can be frustrating for users and to build, so something frictionless will be appreciated by users. Congrats on the certification!

Congrats! I'm guessing you timed it to enter the ISP competition?
Also, did you do any market research before building the skill? If so what did that look like?

Oh wow I didn’t even know about the competition. I know of another idea which could do well with ISPs, might see if I can get something out in time!

Nap O’Clock has been around for years now, but for iOS and Android. It was the first sleep app to integrate Apple Watch as a platform for frictionless control.

Nap O’Clock isn’t the only relaxation medium in the market, not by a long shot, but it’s the only one that is simple to use, works in all platforms and promotes frictionless control without having to sign up etc.,

In Australia there are community and state-run services for early childcare who I have spoken to previously so I will continue down that route. Apart from that looking at early childcare centres as a way to both advertise and educate about the products. I have gone down the route of Google Ads Campaigns previously but that didn't work all that well; I believe I will geet more coverage with a decent website and community engagement to start with.
