NeatMail
Get to inbox zero faster
Hi Indie Hackers,
Just a few months ago, I felt like I was at a point where my productivity was severely hampered by my email inbox, which forced me to spend numerous hours daily simply categorizing, organizing, and writing back responses to my messages.
I even tried some other AI assistants on the market; however, all they offered were automated and very robotic replies that consumed even more time editing than creating a message from scratch. Not one of them was able to understand the context of my emails.
What I needed wasn’t just another generic chatbot. What I needed was something else entirely. So, I built it myself
NeatMail runs silently in the background to do all the hard work:
Intent-Based Categorization: Employs efficient text classifiers to comprehend the reason for an email and categorizes it instantly.
Contextualized Emails: Automatically creates emails based on your context and voice.
100% Open Source: Built openly using Next.js, Supabase, and Prisma since email privacy is crucial.
This is where I'm releasing my project because I need honest feedback from other makers. Try it, check out the code, and let me know what you think! I’ll be around in the comment section all day.
About
I know there are plenty of apps out there but most of them have a flaw that they force out of your Gmail/Outlook interface. I created this product to sort your Gmail/Outlook in real-time.

One thing I'd be careful with:
The challenge may not be whether the assistant understands email better.
The harder decision could be what moment actually convinces someone to trust it with their inbox in the first place.
That sounds subtle, but it can quietly shape adoption, retention, and how success gets interpreted.
