Turn your photos into Wall-Art
Today i've prepared my Launch on Product Hunt
I've also updated the Neuralcanvas website
To be honest, I am not a big believer in Product-Hunt launches. IT won't make or break my idea. The important thing is to have a sustainable acquisition channel. Once I have that, I have a viable business. Currently it's too soon to tell.
If you have any idea on how to get more Customers let me know? Where can I find my customers? Preferably online.
Currently i'm mostly seeing orders with photos of animals, family and partners... Not sure yet what the exact audience is. I know, I should have thought about that upfront. But I'm a maker. Not a marketeer... But i'm learning ;-)
I've started using different acquisition channels to get my first customers. And it worked! I've got more first 10 customers, totalling $340 in order value!
So happy to see real-customers creating real paintings. Most customers come from US and NL. But i've also seen my first customer from the UK.
A positive sign is that 2 of these customers ordered 2 paintings at once. So it seems that I have to build a shopping-cart feature soon. Oh no! ;-)

https://www.neuralcanvas.art is ready! I really tried to keep it as minimal as I could. I've spent in total around 5-6 weeks on the MVP version. However, I've worked way more than 8 hours per day. Not all coding.
That's one thing I've learned from this. As a solo-founder you do the design, the finance, and the marketing all by yourself.
I've underestimated the marketing side of things: Marketing & user acquisition: making sure have an audience to sell to, is super important, and hard. It's also something I've not done before, so it takes a bit more time.
Anyway, since the MVP version is ready. I'm ready to start getting feedback. Thinking about the launch plan, especially w.r.t. the marketing side of things: How to announce it, were to announce it, etc.
Let me know what you think of the product: https://www.neuralcanvas.art
Time for some 🍾 to celebrate this milestone!

I've finished a proof-of-concept of the idea. Reused some code of boomrang.app to start with a Golang backend and a Typescript Next.js backend running on Vercel.com.
The difficult part of this project is integrating with a number of parties. A shop provider, a printing company, and a neural style transfer service.
Long term I want to bring the machine-learning model in-house to provide optimized models for wall-art.

I've chosen to quit my normal job to focus 100% on my Startup ideas. The idea is to have a 6-month runway of trying out anything I think is valuable. Boomrang.app is already running and revenue is growing. However, I need more time to also build Neuralcanvas.art.

The idea to apply Neural Style Transfer to your photos, and sell it as artwork was born! I started sketching out how this could work. I also shared the idea with colleagues, friends and family.
However my time was mostly focussed on being Engineering Lead at Tiqets.com

I love Wall-Art, however everybody has the same Ikea painting ;-) With the invention of AI based Neural Style Transfer, I saw an opportunity to transform your personal picture into stylish wall-art.
