Workflows made simple
I've spent a lot of time reading about creating pages that sell and SEO. I tried to make the webpage along with the shop myself, but there was too many obstacles to overcome. I didn't have this much time.
So I decided to install WordPress and buy a good-looking theme, ranked high by the community. I had no previous experience with WP, and the theme I've chosen made it even harder to work with. In the end, after a couple of days of configuration, I've managed to publish first pages and let Google index them.
I've found out, that there's no single most important thing when creating a webpage. Neither the content, nor appearance or the platform. Thinking about it consumes too much time.
For now and for me, the right order would be:
- Create simple page on WordPress to learn the platform,
- Create some content each day, letting my thoughts to settle down. And let Google know about it. In the meantime, develop the core product.
- Reorganize the site from time to time, to match current needs and make it more and more perfect.
- Possibly install a theme, which will fit current page contents, but looks better. Or create new page from scratch, which will have exactly what is needed, is more flexible or way faster.
It would save me so much time. It's better to reason on page that already exists, knowing the possibilities and limitations.
About
In my previous full-time job I found out, that companies need less expensive and easier to manage BPM/Workflow software. I decided to create my own.
