Our original plan of just being the "Spotify for News" didn't pan out so great.
After a number of interviews with early adopters, it's become clear that our target audience doesn't want to pay for a "generic" news app. Furthermore, they don't have an imminent need for the latest Entertainment news for example so our USP of having audio news with quick access falls short.
With this information in mind, we have decided to go for a niche audience - the business professional. By covering Tech, Business, and Finance, we can provide holistic insights about the economy at large that the decision-makers can actually use in their professional lives.
This pivot still needs to be tested, which will be our next experiment. Wish us luck!

After a year of working hard on building quality backlinks, we were able to get to a point where searching for "Newseon" on Google shows a full page of related results.
Our next challenge would be to stop Google from autocorrecting "Newseon" to "Newseum".
