One challenge we are facing is user onboarding and activation.
We decided to make a general post to hacker news on the 28th of August, not really expecting anything out of it. Once we posted (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=20817762) we reached out to a hand full ( under 10) friends and went about our day which included prospect meetings and development.
To our surprise, we landed up on page 1 of hacker news (https://twitter.com/ravivyas84/status/1166732210235305985)
This also gave us a boost in traffic, around 2300 PVs in 2 days, else we are at an average of around 20 PVs a day. It got 18 new folks to signup for early access
What helped, we believe, is having a good enough home page ( this is our 3rd iteration post a lot of feedback) which showed the value. We also took insights from https://www.cortes.design/ and our past learning of Jobs to be done, which is why we had a use cases page.
We were also active on HN responding to folks, they can get very very critical of you.

First customer using NextStep.
What we learned: Before onboard, onboard yourself with a test account, we found a bug which delayed integration by an hour or so. But the user was understanding and did not raise any issue about it.
A tip others can use: provide sample use cases to help the first customer as your product might not have onboard fully built

Both co-founders started working fulltime. Abhishek will now spend time coding up the MVP while I spend time talking to more prospects. We also have our site & blog up. The first blog explains why we are building NextStep. Read it here : http://nextstephq.com/blog/why-we-are-building-nextstep

We have not built the product yet, but have already begun speaking the to potential prospects. The good news is pricing came up in the discussion from the prospect itself, which I am treating as pre-MVP validation. Yes, it is just from a single prospect, but it is a start.
