May 5, 2026 How I automated a daily market briefing with Next.js, GPT-4 and Vercel crons

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

I'm the founder of Nexus Intelligence an AI-powered daily market briefing built for traders worldwide.

Here's the 30-second pitch:

Every weekday at 7am, my system automatically scrapes 15+ financial news sources, processes them through GPT-4, and delivers a complete market briefing to subscribers before US markets open.

Free plan executive summary, top stories, sentiment dashboard, global pulse.

Premium (₦16,500/month ≈ $10) exact trade setups with entry, target and stop-loss. Full institutional-grade analysis.

The entire pipeline is automated. Vercel cron jobs fire at 6am UTC, scrape the news, generate the briefing, and send it via Resend. I wake up and it's already done.

Stack: Next.js · Supabase · OpenAI GPT-4o-mini · Resend · Paystack · Vercel

Currently grinding for the first 100 subscribers. Happy to connect with anyone building in the newsletter or fintech space.

Have you considered pre-launch email capture before going live? That’s usually where most campaigns fail.

Great point honestly that's one thing I'd do differently if I started over.

I went straight to building and launched without a waitlist.

No pre-launch email capture, no audience warming, nothing.

The product was ready before the distribution was.

What I've been doing to make up for it now:

      LinkedIn DMs to finance/trading connections

Content marketing on Twitter and LinkedIn daily

It's working but slower than it would have been with a warm list ready on day one.

For anyone reading this building something similar set up a simple landing page with email capture

BEFORE you build. Even 200 pre-launch subscribers

changes everything about your launch day momentum.

Lesson learned 🙏 Thanks for commenting.

It’s really useful and helps save time.

About

I grew up watching smart, hardworking people in Nigeria make bad financial decisions not because they lacked intelligence, but because they lacked access to the right information at the right time.
