November 3, 2020 First post on HN > Front page for Ninja Cookie!

At the end of my working day yesterday, I took 2 or 3 minutes to post on HackerNews. This was my first try and I was a bit scared to introduce Ninja Cookie to this huge community. But I've read a lot and lot of hackers wrote they need to try more than once to get their article or product in front page. Well... I just have to try and see. I guess my first try will be a huge fail...
I've wrote a true but punchy description of Ninja Cookie ("Get rid of cookie popups/warnings/banners") with a link to my website. I didn't take time to write a big article with sources and quotes. You know, this post was just a funny try for me. And I've submit.

What a surprise when I came back, about 1 hour later after a sport training session! Upvotes, comments and more than 1000 new visitors in the website! In fact, Ninja Cookie was in the front page of HackerNews! :)

We have our second press article! We thought getting the first press article was the most complicated. Now that it's done, we hope it will be easier to get media coverage. It looks like we are right! :D

October 7, 2020 500 users!

Now that we have released Ninja Cookie, we need to build the community. We are trying to contact some journalists but the results are not very good. It seems that the project is still a bit young. We also need to improve the landing page to give more information. We are starting to think about a business model. We would like Ninja Cookie to be open-source too.

The beta-test program is a success. More than 80 testers entered in the program. Feedbacks are very positive! We have added a easy way to report bugs in the extension and the community seems very active in reporting problems. Everything seems to be perfect 2 months after we start working on this project !

July 1, 2020 Came up with my idea

Cookie popups are intrusive and boring. When you click on “allow cookies” in the cookie banners, you are agreeing to the use of advertising or tracking cookies. These cookies track your browsing data, and collect your personal information. In order to protect your privacy you need to block them. Although this is possible, the design of cookie banners make them easier to allow than to block!

We have to find a solution to improve web browsing experience and privacy !

About

Cookie popups are intrusive and hard to configure. We believe that we all should be able to easily reject cookies in cookie banners, in order to protect our privacy and enjoy browsing without them.
