April 22, 2026 Infusionicsoft NMS – One-Click Network Monitoring for CCTV, Smart Cities & EnterprisesTagline: Monitor 10000+ devices including CCTV cameras

The Problem I Faced

Three years ago, I was consulting for a mid-sized security company managing over 4000 CCTV cameras across 12 locations. Every week, someone would call: "The camera at Gate 3 is down." "The server room switch stopped responding." "We lost video feed from the parking lot."

The worst part? They were using a cobbled-together solution: spreadsheets, ping scripts, and a legacy SNMP tool that required a PhD to configure. When a device went offline at 3 AM, nobody knew until an employee showed up to work.

I looked at existing NMS solutions. SolarWinds? Expensive and overkill. PRTG? Better, but still required hours of configuration. Zabbix? Powerful, but the learning curve was brutal for non-Linux teams.

The real pain point: Small to medium security integrators and IT teams didn't need another complex enterprise tool. They needed something that just works on Windowsβ€”with zero configuration.

So I built it.

What I Built

Infusionicsoft NMS is a Windows-native network monitoring system with a one-click installer. It automatically:

  • Installs .NET 8 Runtime

  • Configures SQL Server Express

  • Sets up firewall rules

  • Creates Windows services

  • Loads sample data so you see value immediately

Key features:

  • πŸŽ₯ Specialized CCTV monitoring – Native support for Hikvision, Dahua, and ONVIF cameras with RTSP stream health checks

  • πŸ—ΊοΈ GIS map integration – Plot devices on an interactive map with real-time status

  • πŸ” Auto-discovery – Scans subnets and identifies SNMP devices automatically

  • πŸ“§ Smart alerts – Configurable cooldown periods to prevent alert fatigue

  • πŸ“Š Live latency charts – Track response times with historical trends

  • πŸ“„ CSV exports – Generate reports for compliance and auditing

Tech stack: C# .NET 8, SQL Server, Leaflet.js for maps, Bootstrap 5 frontend.

The Numbers So Far

Metric Value Time to build MVP6 months (nights/weekends)Lines of code~45,000Demo devices monitored10,000+ (simulated) Pricing tiers Free demo β†’ $3,000/year β†’ $15,000 lifetime Current status Soft-launched, seeking first paid customers

Why This Matters

There's a massive gap between free open-source tools (complex setup) and enterprise solutions (expensive, bloated). Smart city projects, school districts, and security integrators need something in between.

I'm betting on simplicity as the differentiator. The installer does everything. No Docker. No Linux knowledge. No YAML configs. Just download, run as admin, and open the dashboard.

What's Next

  1. First 10 paying customers – Currently offering extended demos for feedback

  2. Integrations – Slack/Teams alerts, Grafana dashboard export

  3. Multi-tenant support – For MSPs managing multiple client networks

  4. Mobile companion app – Push notifications and basic device status

Ask the IH Community

  • For those who've sold to IT managers/security integrators: What channels worked best? Cold email? LinkedIn? Trade shows?

  • Pricing feedback: Is the jump from free demo β†’ $3,000/year too steep? Should I introduce a lower-tier monthly option?

  • Marketing: I'm an engineer, not a marketer. How would you position this against established players?

About

I built NMS as a cleaner, more affordable alternative to expensive enterprise network monitoring tools. It's fully web-based with no agents to install. Currently offers real-time device monitoring, bandwidth tracking, al
