Property maintenance, simplified
As I continue to work on the main app, I decided to build a landing page to gauge interest, to build an email list and to generally start some marketing for my app.
Initially I used claude code to one shot the design and it was done within an hour.
As I thought more about it, I wondered why not have a small wow factor to it, to set it apart and make it memorable. I quickly cycled through a few ideas with claude with plan mode and execution to land on the final one. Even after that it involved two days of tweaking the design, optimizing some of the code, testing on different devices to make it robust.
I have to confess it did take quite a few tokens and took away the momentum of building the actual app.I agonized a lot over the logo. I'm no design expert so I got this one off of a logo generator. I think it looks nice, but it requires a few more tweaks. If the website gets any traction, I'll break out Inkscape or Figma to get it done. Until then it seems good enough.
I have some rudimentary analytics with a google spreadsheet and I can capture emails if any come through.
My next step is to find my customers. I feel like IG and TikTok marketing might be good for this app. I am also planning to create some long form content to get things rolling.
Meanwhile back to app building. I am way past the MVP stage there, hope to have some working screenshots by end of this week.
About
As a homeowner, I'm constantly swamped with admin tasks and bills. I have a combination of offline and online strategies to keep track of everything. I'm building a one stop maintenance app to fix this.
