Hakr is a great help to launch our product on his website 🙏
Will update users increase after this event.
Because the last ver 1.0.7 update broke the UI in a user's phone. IOS has 3 screen sizes while Android has so many, we are fixing now...
A question to think: how to improve the communication with the users on the app so they can direct to us if there is a problem instead of rating on the store.
Update: we fixed-> contacted the user-> he updated the app & changed his review from 1⭐️ to 5 ⭐️with nice words :D

how to improve the communication with the users on the app so they can direct to us if there is a problem instead of rating on the store.
Maybe providing a prominent option in the app to give feedback. Also informing new users about the option to provide feedback within the app for early & personal attention.-

NomadWallet has a section so that the user can give feedback on twitter or on the feedback page, but I think it is buried in the Setting, thanks for the tip of informing new users, we can show in app walkthrough or popup (popup can be disturbing)

At my work the pattern we use is we promote the ability to give feedback which is sent to our internal tool. If the customer provides positive feedback we ask them to leave a review on the app store.
It's probably a bit of a grey hat tactic... but it works quite well.

I had used this tactic for restaurants. Scripted lylt.in/z/
Drop dead, no-signup free tool. -

Thanks for sharing Patrick, yes I should do the same :)

Getting people to click send feedback when your app crashes is always a challenge. I don't even do it myself when one of the apps crash on my phone.
What I did for my Google Play low rating is that I try to contact the person who left the review and tell them that its fixed. Maybe around half the time they would actually change the review given.
But that was quite a few years ago. I am not sure if there's still a way for you to reach out to people who have left reviews on Play Store right now.
And don't be discouraged. Remember, no matter how awesome your product, someone's gonna hate it. Nothing personal.

Thank you Derick for encouraging me, yes I did the same, I googled his name and found his facebook, informed him after fixing the bug, he said he would update the app & change the review accordingly. :)
We don't want to lose the user as he said he loves the app and highly recommends it but the last version update broke UI in his phone so he could not use it anymore, it was our fault :)

Oh that's a shame. There are tools out there, like BrowserStack, that can help spot those kind of things.

Thank you Jas :), we fixed and contact the reviewer to inform him we fixed it. The bright side of its review is that he let us know something was wrong so we could fix it.

We noticed many active users on Android but just a few ppl paid, 🤔why? until we noticed us accidentally let "425" free entries instead of "25", so no user makes a purchase. We hope to see more new purchases soon.

Hey Winnie,
A few things come to mind (some already shared by other great folks here!).
- Are you seeing more of an uptick with iOS customers? As stated here, they tend to be less price sensitive as the barrier to entry (the apple ecosystem) comes with a much higher price tag than that of Android.
- Android developers aren't used to paying yearly fees with the Android marketplace as opposed to Apple's. Therefore, more apps charge money on the app store, and thus those customers are more accustomed to paying something.
- Agreed that nomads are frugal, and you'd have to be presenting one heck of a value proposition to them for them to part with any sort of meaningful money.
With that said, maybe we need to flip the revenue model around. Can you get users onto the platform in such a way that advertisers would be interested in reaching out to them with services and products that save money? I'm not talking about outright spam, but this is how entities like Credit Karma and LendingTree make money in the US market while being a "free" or extremely low cost financial resource to the public.
Imagine being on NomadWallet and getting promoted suggestions for low cost places to stay or eat in the city. You're balancing quality and cost. Also, Nomads are mostly remote workers, so I can imagine apps that facilitate remote productivity being interested. There are many ways to potentially change this up a bit rather than ditching the entire thing. You're just dealing with a price sensitive audience, and judging by the $4.99 lifetime price tag, you're keenly aware of it.

Hi Jimmy, thank you for sharing.🙏
for 1, 2, 3: Yes, I & @Minhoko agree with you, NomadWallet is available for both ios & android phones, we got more paying users from ios than android but we got more issues coming from Android - UI broken issues as there are so many Android devices.
We built NW targeting remote life so it is not really the same as other financial apps using within a country, and 😅the audience is quite price sensitive, but we increase the price from 2,99$ to 4,99$ and we got more paying users, so base on my experiment I am pretty positive that they are willing to pay if our product is the painkiller for problems in their work & travel life. We are trying to make a product like that.
For me, the phone app is not a good place for ads because of the limited display on the phone, it can really hurt the user experience. For what you suggested, I think of a web ver where we share the cost of living of the cities by the data sharing by NW users (of course if they agree to share), then we can display adds there, it is a pretty good idea, thank you.

Android tends to IAP monetize far lower than iOS in general

yes agree with that, however, I & @Minhoko built NomadWallet app by ReactNative so we decided to launch android too, we did not expect android users would pay but we got paid slowly but increasingly.

First of all, precentage of paying users on Android platform is generally low.
Second, I already had a product for 'nomads', I can assure you that this target audience is very frugal. And it's better change your target audience before it's too late, nomads are shitty customers.-

Thank Skat, I agreed that most of the nomads are in budget traveling & they don't pay well but we love the community of nomad makers so we make the NomadWallet, we are thinking the next product is SaaS, do you have any Saas product before?
-

I'm a nomad myself, can't say that I hate them. Just saying, that this is not a good target audience to have for a commercial product.
I'm working on a SaaS product right now -- https://ashop.co . It's tough, ramp-up is really slow and I'd only recommend starting SaaS product if you can invest into it for couple of years without much return. It's called "The Long, Slow SaaS Ramp of Death " for a reason.
my personal opinion, is that you are on right track -- building mobile apps has a bigger chance of success. It just seems that main target audience for your first app was not correct.

The Long, Slow SaaS Ramp of Death 😅
Thank you @skatkov, we are targeting not low budget nomads. We got the advice to make Nomadwallet Saas version for people on business trips also, but most of the business ppl use credit cards on their trip overseas & they don't really like to install every single expense.
Hope your business going well.

We could not find a good travel expense tracker let us add expense entry in multiple currencies. Especially when we move to a new country, we had to reset data. So we built our own to make our travel life easier.
