July 8, 2026 I built a browser VOD player for Twitch and Kick — looking for feedback

Hey Indie Hackers,

I recently launched NoSub, a browser-based VOD player for Twitch and Kick.

The idea came from a simple frustration: watching old streams often feels incomplete. Most replay tools focus only on the video, but without chat replay the stream loses a lot of context.

NoSub lets users:

- watch Twitch/Kick VODs in the browser

- view synced chat replay when available

- search streamers

- create clips from VODs

- select source quality when available

It does not recover deleted or expired VODs. If the replay source is gone, it’s gone.

The project is bootstrapped and currently monetized with lightweight ads/donations. I’m still early, so I’m mostly looking for feedback on positioning, UX, and growth.

My biggest question:

Would you position this as a creator/editor tool, a VOD player, or a stream replay utility?

I wouldn't start with the feature category.

People aren't looking for a better VOD player—they're trying to recover the experience of a live stream after it's over. Chat, reactions, and timing are what make the replay feel complete. If that's the job people hire NoSub for, I'd build the positioning around recreating the live experience rather than around playing archived video.

I’m working on NoSub because watching old Twitch and Kick streams often feels incomplete. Most VOD players focus only on the video, but without chat replay the stream loses a lot of context. NoSub exists to make replays
