November 30, 2022 Moving away from WP Coding Standards to PSR

We at BracketSpace value code quality very much. This is why we've been ensuring our code meets some particular standards since the beginning. One of them is the WPCS, a set of rules for how CSS, JS, and PHP should look. Look means how it should be formatted.

WP Coding Standards are great, and we've used them successfully over the years, but they're not very modern. The world moved forward, and we believe that change is necessary.

So, recently we decided that we're dropping WPCS in favor of PSR - a standard across the whole PHP community. This is a very tedious job, though. It requires some refactoring, especially around property or method names. A by-product of that was a new Casegnostic micropackage that allows calling methods both via snake_case and camelCase notation.

The change will most likely be released in the new plugin version, fingers crossed! 🤞
