Notifly
Notifications for your web app
The number of notifications sent each week through Notifly is increasing quite fast right now. One of the main drivers of this is that our own product (Eduflow) is using Notifly, and we are seeing a lot of growth due to COVID19. It is nice to see Notifly scaling and handling the load well!
We pushed a lot of improvements to the web app, including a new dashboard, better styling of a bunch of pages and a new setup guide. Still a lot of things to do, but we are getting close to a system we can properly launch and share!

Today we published our developer docs for setting up and using Notifly. After discussing a lot internally, we decided to host them on Gitbook - mainly because it was the best looking :). Using a service over something homemade made sense to avoid having to build a CMS ourselves with search, etc.
You can find the docs here: https://docs.notifly.io/

Today we got our first new user that we didn't already know. This person found us on IndieHackers and signed up for our product! I reached out to them to learn a bit more about how they think of using our product, and to offer assistance in getting them started.
Currently we are playing with using our own Slack team for helping people, and then inviting them either as guests or using shared channels between our team and theirs.

Hi @NGilstroem π, as David already mentioned I used https://www.svgator.com/. Not the best animation experience, but it was the only tool I could find that would export to a web format.

@simonlind who is our lead designer whipped together a sweet landing page using Figma and Webflow. We put it live today, pointed the domains in the right directions and now we have a landing page π. There are still a few things on the page that are missing, but we wanted to get something out early that we can start sending to interested people.

Oh, and the landing page is here: www.notifly.io
A month after starting development on the web app for Notifly we gave the signup link to the first external user. While the app is still pretty rough, we wanted to get some early feedback on the setup process and see if things work smoothly when someone else is using the product.
The person we chose has a smaller startup company that depends a lot on notifications, both email and in-app, and they were pretty excited about getting started.

We started the first small task related to setting up the web-app for Notifly (the part where users can set up and manager their notifications).
We decided to run with a very simple technical setup (Django Templates) to make development much faster. Our other apps are more complex and has a React stack, but since Notifly is a developer tool and consists mainly of forms and dashboards we decided on this simpler stack.

Finished the Notifly widget to our main product Eduflow. We are building Notifly as a side-product in order to add notifications to our main product. We built a React widget that can be embedded into any web-app and built Notifly in a separate repository and on a separate Heroku instance.

We needed a good way to send in-app and email notifications to our users for Eduflow. We built Notifly to solve this and decided to spin it out as its own product.
