Notion Backups

After many weeks of procrastination (I see a pattern here), I decided to open up signups for everyone.

I managed to gather somewhat sizable email list before the launch. More importantly, I managed to rank highly for key keywords across many search engines. Finally figuring this entrepreneurship thingie out!

After many months of p̶r̶o̶c̶r̶a̶s̶t̶i̶n̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ building, inviting the first batch of waitlist subscribers.

The product is rough around the edges, and some boilerplate functionality is missing, but it does what it is supposed to do: backing up Notion workspaces on a regular schedule.

After noticing a missing gap in the market, coupled with the fact that Notion's API was in the works, I snatched notionbackups.com and built a landing page to collect email addresses.

While building on someone else's platform entails risk, it has a major benefit of having straightforward acquisition channels, especially if the space is wide open.

Building an add-on for an existing product is playing a SaaS game on the easy-ish mode.
