Notion Videos

Read about notion.so through a tweet last month. Since then I have been dabbling with it and found the "All in one productivity tool" to be an outstanding product in the making . Will be a challenger to all the productivity , note taking , collaboration tools . youtube.com is a great resource for learning and understanding how users are innovating in their own way with any innovative product. While scanning all notion videos I came across August Bradley's Notion videos and was really inspired by the quality and content of his videos . There are many great videos out there but I could not find an intelligent way of navigating so many channels with diverse content from basic to highly advanced use of the software. Given the lock down and the intense interest to understand if NoCode is really "no code", I embarked upon building www.notionvideos.com as a Minimum Viable Product , which is a complete library of all Notion videos published in 2020. I used a stack of amazing NoCode tools comprising of dashdash.com , parabola.io carrd.co , airtable.com and glideapps.com to build Notionvideos. To test the MVP I also added the ycombinator backed Kerala startup buymeacoffee.com to see if people really would pay anything for curated video content which is freely available. Notionvideos.com has been soft launched today . While doing this work I found several upcoming stars in the world of Notion Video publishing like Murali Balaraman , Jerad Hill , William Nutt , Danny Hatcher and several others.

Taking a cue from what I read in Jeff Gothelf's new book "Forever employable" , I decided to share and give away whatever I can to the community. Most appropriate to mention here that makerpad.co is an amazing community that I joined exactly a month ago and I am really enthused and motivated by what the community has been doing to promote the NoCode moment. Rough statistics of videos published on Notion in Youtube are as follows :

This year from Jan 2020- June 15, 2020 :

2.1 million views of notion.so videos till date
352 videos published in 2020 till June 19,2020
At least 133 channels publishing notion videos
This is only in English . Other languages excluded.
The 2 videos published in 2020 by Dr. Ali Abdall had 383k views this year
The 41 videos published in 2020 by Notion.so had 280k views
While I realised that there is a goldmine of content out there in the form of videos , there is no engine or algorithm which can customise the learning path for each individual , choosing a combination of video, audio ,text , tests and instructor led content delivery which would be based on each individuals learning ability and learning objective.

As the world moves towards using more and more intelligent tools , we would require a vast pool of skilled tool users who would be able to build solutions quickly and in the most economical way. It is worth doing some experiments and testing a set of hypothesis specially with the NoCode tools.
