Delighted to receive word from the first customer in Barcelona. Jaime Mesa, an e-commerce expert who uses Notion to run a paid directory of e-commerce operators in 400 niches, posted a photo of his Notion-Inspired mug https://twitter.com/jaime_mesa/status/1310626063823798272?s=21
Notionware has launched on ProductHunt. Here is the listing - feel free to ask me anything over there.
This is quite a new experience for me. So much to consider, so much to bring in to alignment.

I launched on No Code Founders in two ways...
- Added a startup listing to the site's directory.
- Informed the NCF Slack group.
I created the Facebook page for Notionware, started populating it with content and announced the site's launch to the most relevant Facebook group, Notion Made Simple.

Latest in the tentative, rolling "launch" is the Notion subreddit on Reddit.
I also told other community members in two Slack groups - one dedicated to Notion, the other focused on productivity with a Notion bent.

Gulp!
I bit the bullet and wrote a launch post for IndieHackers.
Trying to keep exposure limited in case this is an embarrassing disaster ;-) Hey, I've pushed through some barriers lately, so let's see...

From my forum and group posts, I carried out a few one-on-one direct message threads with interested prospects. This even led to a sale! I got a dopamine buzz out of having an idea, making it, offering it, finding someone really wanted it, enough that they bought it.

With a website ready to go, I have approached the point of putting it out into the world or keeping it hidden, of risking fear of failure or just moving forward.
My typical project modality is to build something I'm proud of and then promptly do very little to get it into people's hands.
For Notionware, I posted my initial design idea to relevant community groups. I found significant appreciation for and interest in, with many people wanting to buy one. Very pleased with that.
This is probably backward from the typical product process, gaining validation first, in so far as I had already taken time to produce many designs, products, a store; all the work was done.
Also, I am in uncharted territory on "launches". I want to make as big a bang as possible, but decided to focus first on the people I most want to delight with this.

Since the start, I have gone back and forth on a name for this project. There are many good ones - kept in a Notion document, of course .
I need to work through indecision that can hold back forward momentum, so I chose the name, registered the domain name and we are good to go.

Over the last few weeks, I have been testing services for both production and sale of the products.
I settled on each platform, and began linking and syncing them.
I love this process. Lots of organisation involved. Nothing is ever finished, but I brought the store to a kind of completion for now.
I love learning new things, and I love the fusion of creativity and software. That the goal is to further drive the community for a piece of software is doubly great.
Notion feeds some of my particular tendencies. I am a completist, an archivist, an organiser, a systems person. In recent months, I have been striving to use it to connect up areas of my life, and their corresponding projects. So all of this is sort of a joy.

About
It started with a Notion fan's ambition to take his workspace off-screen. One lockdown later, we had turned the Notion interface into a range of clothes for connected thinkers, fans of the finest app on the block.
