May 9, 2020 First promotion and first sale

Together with the launch, I've made a promotion on twitter: https://twitter.com/LucasBFronza/status/1259226485459730432.

I promoted the tweet, spending £10, and making the first sale worth of £7.99. But, as the promotion says, I gave 100% discount.

But, it was good to put it out there and see some reactions like: https://twitter.com/rex2go/status/1259237721836584960 😅. Well, I guess that was expected!

May 9, 2020 Launched on Twitter

On May 9th, the product was already in an acceptable version and I announced it in this tweet: https://twitter.com/LucasBFronza/status/1259225615099707398.

ATM, I have 100ish followers, so I didn't expect it to have too many impressions, which it really didn't 😅.

Its a cute idea, but its also polluting a public repository that has already struggled with content abuse and other issues. I'd be weary that at some point NPM will classify these as spam.

I worry about that too. But what is the difference from each buyer making their own card and publishing it? NPM would allow that, same package names would be used, etc. So, what's the problem of the same happening from a service? It's not like I'm reserving names or anything like that. But I totally see your point!

Nothing, that is until NPM itself realizes that they can charge per package =). In any case, congrats on the launch and idea.

April 26, 2020 Came up with my idea

I've decided to make my own npx business card. While doing it, I realized that it would be possible to automate the process. Quickly, I tested if it was possible to generate and publish the card from an API call. With that working, I then decided it was worth it to work on it since it would be something quick to make that it wouldn't need to sell much to break even.

I've decided to make my own card, then I thought it would be a good idea to have a service that builds cards.
