January 9, 2026 Solo Dev Dad: I built an AI "Co-Pilot" for parents because standard trackers were just adding to my anxiety.

Hey Indie Hackers! 👋

I'm the solo founder behind Nurturely.

The Origin Story (The Panic)

When my wife got pregnant, I realized I had zero experience with babies. I bought books (too dense to read while sleep-deprived) and downloaded apps (too generic).

The existing apps were mostly just Data Loggers. They told me "You changed a diaper at 2:00 PM" or "She slept for 40 minutes."

Great, but... what do I do now? Why is she crying? How do I actually play with a 3-month-old to help them grow?

I realized modern parents don't need more data entry; they need a filter. They need a proactive guide.

The Solution: Nurturely

I built Nurturely to be an AI Co-Pilot. Instead of just logging data, it uses that data to generate actionable advice.

What it actually does:

  1. ☀️ AI Daily Plan: Every morning, it generates a personalized list of age-appropriate activities and tips based on the baby's specific developmental stage and temperament.

  2. 💬 Willow (Context-Aware AI): A chat interface that knows your baby. Instead of Googling "sleep regression," you ask Willow, who already knows your baby is 4 months old and has been waking up frequently lately.

  3. 🌳 Journey Tree: A visual representation of the baby's growth. Instead of a spreadsheet of milestones, your logs build a unique tree that blooms as the baby grows.

The Tech Stack (For the curious) 🛠️

As a solo dev, I needed to move fast and target all platforms:

  • Frontend: React + Vite + Tailwind (Single codebase).

  • Mobile: Capacitor (Wrapped the web app for native iOS/Android - works surprisingly well).

  • Backend: Supabase (Postgres, Auth, and Edge Functions).

  • AI: Google Gemini API (Powering the dynamic schedule generator and chat).

  • Monetization: RevenueCat (Mobile Subscriptions) + Lemon Squeezy (Web).

Current Status

I've launched the MVP and I'm currently iterating based on feedback. The app is bootstrapped and operates on a Freemium model (Core features free, AI/Personalization paid).

I'd love your feedback:

  1. Does the value prop ("Co-pilot" vs "Tracker") land with you?

  2. Any other parents here who felt the "data entry fatigue" of traditional baby apps?

About

Nurturely was born from personal panic. As a first-time father, I found existing resources were either too theoretical (books) or too generic (static checklist apps). Parents don't need more information; they need a filt
