Nurturepedia

Nurturepedia started with a pretty simple idea: parents shouldn't have to jump between a dozen different websites just to find a name, calculate a due date, or get an answer to a question about their baby.

Baby names were the starting point for me. But the more I worked on it, the more obvious it became that choosing a name is only one small part of the journey.

So I started turning Nurturepedia into something broader — a free place where parents can find meaningful baby names, pregnancy tools, and practical parenting information in one place.

Right now, the site has more than 2,300 baby names with meanings, origins, cultural context and different ways to search for them. There are also free tools for things like due dates, ovulation, pregnancy weight gain, child height, blood type, numerology and name discovery.

One thing I care about a lot is making the name information useful beyond just a list of names. Parents can explore names by meaning, origin, religion, country, zodiac sign and other themes. A name can mean something very different to one family than it does to another, so the cultural side matters.

I've also been building the parenting side of the site — articles around pregnancy, infant care, feeding, sleep, development and the everyday questions that come up when you're raising a child.

It's still very much a work in progress.

I'm building it as a side project, mostly focused on improving the product, adding useful tools, growing the content library and figuring out what parents actually find helpful.

The whole thing is free right now, and I'm trying to keep it that way while I figure out the business side.
